LTAW #24 at Zuccotti Park, Wall street

It's fascinating to walk through Zuccotti Park into this com-munity of diverse people who peacefully demand social and economic equality.
Little by little the park is transformed into a village of a sort, there is even a library. The place is now cramped with tents. Because of the sky scrapers surrounding the park there is very little sun.
I hope for the safety of the protesters.
As I was getting ready to start the walk a group of people gathered to participate in a workshop on Radical Economics 101

The walk ended with a wonderful encounter with the knitting grandmother
What about you, where did you take the walk from? if you have any footage please send them, to me via You sent it (at no cost to you).
Thank you so much for your support and participation.

the 22nd walk took place in the jungle

Our trip in Belize was fantastic, so good to be exploring wondrous places in the world. LTAW #22 took place in mid air as Taliana and I were rappelling over the caves and cliffs of the aptly named "The Black Hole"

Departure point,Saturday August 20th 11am Belize

The highlight of this experience was to look up and see Taliana who took the guide's challenge and "glided" down head first, with drops of rains falling around her... a moment not captured on film but embedded in my memory.

Thank you so much to all of you who took a picture at this moment. Please send your image to mariechristine@mindspring.com

Hello everyone

A special thank you to Valentina Luccardi, Nostra Nosratian & Mark Salvatus for performing the tasks of the town crier, the drummer and the twitter master during the performance.
I greatly appreciate your support and participation.

Let’s Take a Walk uses the phenomenon of Twitter so that participants all over the world can join in a “group walk.”
On scheduled times, participants (located in various locations throughout the world) would receive “tweet” messages, providing a series of walking/viewing directions to follow my path through a specific site. Requesting that they film their journey, the various footage becomes a video installation showing the experience of our group walking in different places but moving synchronized through the same footprints.

Une petite escapade...

I had to escape and I did... I left my pillows, my kids, my dogs and my home for four days in New Orleans. I am so happy that I might orchestrate a Walk. This is very last minute but I'll keep you informed. Right now I am off to explore the French Quarter.

Spinning my web

I wish I was inviting you for A Walk but instead, the terrifying emergence of my inner hausfrau, is seriously clashing with my goddess of love and the arts. She has been so busy pulling me into the meander of housekeeping, keeping me home sewing pillows… If only I could take it to the place of Spinning my web instead I am falling into the trap of Domesticity, next mummy dearest...

This time, it did not feel too lonely...

Let's take a walk #16 took place in what seems to be ages ago. I recall the fun of The Three Kings parade.
What surprise, what a pleasure to see my friend Christo just as I was ending the walk.
We kept following the parade together.
My friend went back to Switzerland, leaving behind her some great memories and an amazingly delicious home made Walnut Tart.
For those of you lucky enough to live in Zurich, Christo sells them in the market... Worth looking for.
I might conduct next walk from Indianapolis Looking forward to the next time. Bise mc

Still from Performance, Let's Take a Walk #9

LTAW #9 featured a new addition to the work, inviting not only participants via Twitter, but also participants gathered from visitors to the Figment Art Festival on Governor’s Island (2010) to walk alongside me during the performance. It also introduced a town crier and drummer that helped lead the procession. I also wore a knitted overskirt that unraveled with each step, leaving a physical trace of our path.
